The Collection of engines
Silvo Čemažar from the village of Gorenji Novaki, just below the Cerkno Ski Centre, holds a true treasure of the motorised past. He will demonstrate the working of petrol and diesel engines from the years 1915 to 1970. The collection started taking shape in 2010 with the refurbishment of the Colorni engine, and slowly grew and expanded with pieces from the Idrija and Cerkno region. The last refurbished piece is the Aran engine, refurbished in 2014.
The collection is dedicated to the owner’s father, Peter Čemaž, on the centennial of his birth, and in memory of the tragic accident that happened at the Pr’ Tovmažu farm on 20 December 1967.
The viewing of the collection is appropriate for all generations – the younger ones get an insight into life on farms in the past and the older generation can reminisce about their youth.
Viewing is organised for individual and group visits by prior arrangement.
