St. Nicholas bell tower
In the Middle Ages a miner’s church of St. Nicholas was built in Labinje. Today only the ruins of a freestanding bell with two mullioned windows are still preserved, known as Miklavžev turn in Labinje (St. Nicholas bell tower in Labinje). A tale has been preserved through oral tradition, saying that buried gold treasure lies under the ruins of the bell tower and the church, but lightning would strike and kill anyone who tries to dig it out.
