The tourist farm, which lies at the juncture of three valleys in the village of Straža, is comprised of an old farm house dating back to 1814 or even further, and an arched barn with a shed, which is still in use today. The tourist farm is rounded off with a large hayrack – a double hayrack, where hay used to dry, but is mostly used for storing farming tools today. The old apple orchard is home toan apiary with beehives.
The farm was renovated by the new owners Marta and Peter in 1995. Next to the old building a new house grew, which was built for new, changed needs: tourism. Their tourist services have expanded every year, which has also changed the image of the farm and added to it.
The farm is surrounded by wonderful hilly nature and the farm itself produces fruit, vegetables, dairy products, and meat. Guests at the Želinc tourist farm can choose among accommodation in rooms of different sizes, which have a sitting section with a TV-set that has a flat screen, and a bathroom with a shower and a hair-dryer. The rooms offer a view of the garden and mountains, and some also have a balcony. In summer an outdoor pool is available to the guests, which can be used free of charge. At additional charge you can also use the sauna or the massage tub or treat yourself to a massage. They will also prepare diet meals on request.
The accommodation establishment is located at the confluence of the Idrijca and Cerknica rivers and offers plenty of possibilities for fishing. Hikers will also be delighted by the many hiking trails across the nearby hills.
